In Alberta, you may apply for your Learner (Class 7) license starting at age 14.
What documents will I need to submit when applying for a driver's license in Alberta?
When applying for your license you need to show the following:
- Legal Name
- Address

- Original Signature
These can be documents such as
- an ID card or driver’s licence issued by any official government
- a valid passport, nexus card or permanent resident card

How do I pass the Alberta Learner test?

Congratulations! Now that you’ve passed your knowledge test, you can get your permit validated by a registry agent. Once your permit is valid, it is valid for 1 year from the date of the test. You will also be given a vision test. Once you pass, you can purchase a Class 7 learner’s licence card. You will be given a temporary licence that’s valid for 30 days until your licence card comes in the mail.
When can I take my road test?
After getting your learner’s permit, you must wait at least 1 year before applying for your road test. At the time of the road test, you must be 16 years old, have your parent or guardian’s consent if you are under 18, have proof that you live in Alberta, have valid ID and have proof of residence in Canada.
Who may I have in the car with me while driving in Alberta with a learner licence?
If you only hold a learner’s licence, you must be sitting with someone over 18 who has an Alberta Class 5 or higher licence. You are not allowed to drive between 12am and 5am.

How Many Questions are on the MassDOT RMV Test?
The official permit test has 25 multiple-choice questions. To pass the test, you must answer 18 questions correctly within the allotted time of 25 minutes.
Don’t get all worked up about the time limit. 25 minutes is usually more than enough to complete the test.
