About This File

Open the Mods folder inside Framework.zip 4. Select the Resource.cfg and hit Ctrl+C (or right-click and choose Copy). Go to your own Mods folder, where you install your mods: Documents Electronic Arts The Sims 3 Mods 6. Delete the Resource.cfg file. Use Ctrl+V or Right-Click Paste to put the new Resource.cfg in your mods folder. What is Resource.cfg. If you go to The Sims 3's installation folder (usually in Programs/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3), you will find several files with this name. The Resource.cfg file we are referring to for the installation of.package files, is an additional file you have to download and cannot be found in the game.

In order to use ANY Modin The Sims 3 – you need a “Mods” folder in the main “The Sims 3” folder.

Download 'Mods folder Framework - Install.zip' and place in a new folder.

Extract the zip file to its own folder.

Move or COPY the ENTIRE Mods folder to your ...DocumentsThe Sims 3 folder.

Now you can start placing your Mod package files into the ModsPackages folder.

Play the game. No installing is required.

It is easy to create one.

Make a new folder in DocumentsThe Sims 3 folder. Name it “Mods

In that folder make 2 more folders – name them Packages and Overrides respectively.

Copy the “Resource.cfg” file printed below and paste in a new Notepad document. Save this document to the new Mods folder as a text document, with the following name “Resource.cfg

Just place the ENTIRE Mods folder into The Sims 3 folder. That’s it!

You can now put your Mods into the ModsPackages folder.

The “Resource. Cfg” file contains the breakdown on what folder in the Mods main folder has what priority for loading.
