If you’re reading this post, then the chances are you have the same problem I did… I spent two frustrating days searching for solutions for no sound on Windows 10 PC until finally fixing the issue with something very simple.
My Missing Audio Fix - Help & Support - GTAForums
I sincerely hope this post helps you out and saves you time. The video will walk you through the 3 options below.
So, I’ll start with the fix that worked for me and then list some of the other solutions for no sound that I researched:
Once this has been done, do the same with the other audio file (if you unzipped the voice file first, do the same with the radio file now). Once both files have been unzipped, right click on the shortcut of your GTA San Andreas, which is the one you use to go to the game, and open the location of the game. Jul 16, 2014 In-game voices not working. While playing the game I've noticed that there are sound issues. I hear all the audio in cutscenes just fine as well as the random audio the civillians say. But if CJ or any main characters talk outside of a cutscene I don't hear it. I have subtitles on to know when they talk but it really makes the game get boring.
- Worked (for me): as per the video, right mouse on the audio icon in the bottom toolbar, open up the ‘Volume Mixer’ menu. GTA V needs to be running or it won’t appear. Check if the sound is muted and if so, unmute. I finally found this solution as I noticed that Google Chrome had no sound either and that was where I noticed this fix.
- Works for others: this one seems to work for a number of people given the comments online. You essentially need to run the Direct X setup again. Navigate to it via Program Files > Rockstar Games > GTA V > Redistributibles > Direct X and then click on DXSETUP to update Direct X
- Might work: within the Rockstar launcher there is a Settings menu (top right). When you’re within Settings, click on GTA V and then try the Verify Integrity option. This checks for missing or corrupted files and when I ran it, the infamous Direct X showed up. Unfortunately, it didn’t work for me, but might for you
These are the list of successful options that I found online. I also tried many (many) other things. I didn’t go down the nuclear option of uninstalling and reinstalling GTA V, but did use the Repair option which probably does a similar job to option three above.
Along with this list I reinstalled my sound drivers, disabled and re-enabled my speakers and tried the Windows sound troubleshooter. This last one is worth a try at the very least.
Fix Sound Gta San Andreas Pc
I also checked my computer history and saw that there had been a Windows update a week ago which seemed to correspond with the time that the sound went. It took a full morning to revert those changes, but they did nothing. I also deleted all my temporary files to no effect.
I’m still none the wiser as to what made the change in my sound settings in the first place.
But My Game Crashes When I Start A Mission Or Buying A Property When Using This Audio Files. I Followed Every Single Detail But Still The Same Prob...
Please let me know in the comments if this or another solution has worked for you and hopefully it will help others as well.
